Mohammad has more than a decade of experience in scientific programming and computational modeling and, specifically, over seven years of experience in computational and systems biology. He is currently serving as the Principal Investigator on two SBIR grants from the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH). His PhD research in Dr. Mofrad's Lab at the University of California, Berkeley, supported by the NIH, is the foundation for Nexilico's microbiome precision medicine technology.

Mohammad is a professor of Bioengineering at University of California, Berkeley. He has previously co-founded two startups, one of which was acquired by Fresenius Medical Care. He has nearly 20 years of experience in computational modeling of biological and physiological systems, specifically, microbiomes. Mohammad has published over 150 scientific articles in top tier journals, holds several patents in various fields of bioengineering, and has received numerous national and international awards including the NSF CAREER Award and AHA National Innovator Research Grant.
